More than 100 representatives from artificial intelligence companies, agencies, intellectual property offices and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) from China, the United States, Europe, Japan and South Korea participated in the seminar.

Gan Shaoning said in his speech that artificial intelligence, as a core driving force, is profoundly changing the global industrial structure and human life, and it also brings opportunities and challenges to the intellectual property system. The existing intellectual property protection system needs to be further expanded to provide proper solutions to the problems caused by the application of new technologies, in order to effectively protect the new intellectual achievements produced by the development and application of new technologies. The State Intellectual Property Office held this conference to discuss the challenges brought by artificial intelligence to the protection of intellectual property rights from a pragmatic level and how to deal with them, and put forward future work directions and suggestions.

The seminar was divided into four links: industry perspective, intellectual property agency perspective, intellectual property office perspective, and WIPO perspective. Artificial intelligence companies, agencies, and intellectual property offices from China, the United States, Europe, Japan, and South Korea and the World Intellectual Property Organization More than ten guests made keynote speeches and conducted in-depth discussions on the development of artificial intelligence technology, the application of artificial intelligence in the field of intellectual property rights, and the intellectual property protection of artificial intelligence. The meeting achieved good results, and the discussion results have important reference significance for the future direction of the cooperation of the Five Offices, especially the topic setting and work determination of the emerging technology/artificial intelligence task group.
